Customize Your HubSpot Deal Cards: Show the Information That Matters Most

Here's the thing: not every property in HubSpot deserves real estate on your deal cards. When you're working through your pipeline, you want to see what matters most to your sales process. That's where customizing your card view comes in. We're going to walk you through exactly how to do it so you can keep your team focused on what actually moves deals forward.

Why Customize Your Deal Card View

Your deal cards are like the dashboard for your sales team. When they're showing the right information, you speed up deal reviews and help humans make better decisions faster. Instead of clicking into each deal to find critical details, everything's right there on the board. It's a small change that makes a real difference in your workflow.

Step-by-Step: How To Edit Your Deal Card View

Step 1: Access Your Settings

Log into HubSpot and look for the gear settings icon in the top right corner. Click on it to open your settings menu.

Step 2: Navigate To Objects

On the left side of your settings, scroll down until you find Data Management. Under that section, you'll see Objects. Click on it, then select Deals from the list.

Step 3: Go To Pipelines

You're now in your Deals settings. Look for the Pipelines tab at the top and click it. Select the pipeline you want to customize. You'll see a link that says "Customize Board and Card View." That's your target. Click it.

Step 4: Add and Remove Properties

Now you're in the card customization interface. Here's where the magic happens. You can add up to four properties to your deal cards. Think strategically about which ones matter most for your team:

  • Deal Amount
  • Close Date
  • Create Date
  • Custom properties like Latest Traffic Source

Remove any properties that aren't adding value. Keep only what your team needs to see to move deals forward.

Step 5: Save Your Changes

Once you've made your selections, hit Save. Your changes apply immediately to your pipeline view.

See It In Action

Head over to your CRM, then Deals, and check out your pipeline. You'll now see your customized cards displaying exactly the information you selected. Notice how conditional properties only show when they have data. For example, if you add Latest Traffic Source, it'll only display on deals that actually have that information. That keeps your cards clean and readable.

Pro Tip: Choose Your Four Properties Wisely

You've got four slots on each card. Don't waste them on information that's nice to know. Focus on properties that help your team take action. What moves deals forward in your sales process? That's what belongs on your card. Amount, close date, and key custom fields usually make the cut. Everything else can stay in the full deal record.

Small optimizations like this add up. When your humans can see what they need without digging, they move faster and sell better. Now get out there and execute on this. Your sales team's going to thank you.
